RP Exotics is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our site and hold ourselves to the standards outlined below.
Our Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Measures We Have Taken
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks. Our site uses semantic elements and ARIA attributes to provide structure and context for assistive technologies. Navigation, main content, and footer regions are identified with appropriate landmarks.
- Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements, including forms, modals, carousels, and menus, are designed to be operable with a keyboard alone. A skip-to-content link is provided at the top of every page.
- Reduced motion. Users who prefer reduced motion (via their operating system or browser settings) will see simplified transitions and animations across the site.
- Color contrast. We design with contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements for normal and large text. Our primary palette uses high-contrast combinations of black, near-black, and white.
- Form accessibility. Form fields are associated with visible labels. Required fields are indicated, and validation errors are announced to assistive technologies.
- Image alternatives. Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
- Accessible components. We use the Radix UI library for complex interactive patterns (dialogs, tabs, accordions) which provides built-in focus management, keyboard interaction, and screen reader support.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We continuously evaluate our site using automated tools, manual testing, and assistive technology, and address issues as they are identified. Current areas of active improvement include:
- Comprehensive screen reader testing across all interactive flows.
- Audit and remediation of color contrast across all component states.
- Expansion of focus-visible indicators in custom interactive surfaces.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In particular:
- Some third-party embedded content (payment fields, CAPTCHA challenges) operates outside our direct control. We select vendors that prioritize accessibility and advocate for improvements where gaps exist.
- Older PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are working to remediate these as they are identified.
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of RP Exotics. If you encounter a barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please reach out through our Contact Us page or any of the channels below. We take every report seriously and will respond within five business days.
